FORT WORTH, Texas — No. 7-seeded Louisville women’s basketball avenged last year’s first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament by beating No. 10-seeded Nebraska on Friday.
The Cardinals now move on to play TCU, the second seed, in the Round of 32 on Sunday back at the Schollmaier Arena.
Louisville is 2-4 against TCU, though the two teams haven’t played since 2005. The matchup will also pit Horned Frogs guard Hailey Van Lith against her former team. Van Lith started her career as a Cardinal then transferred to LSU last season. She left the Tigers for TCU this year and averaged 17.9 points per game heading into the NCAA Tournament.
