Liberty acquire guard Natasha Cloud in surprise trade from Connecticut Sun

With all eyes on NCAA women’s basketball, the WNBA decided to add some unexpected chaos.

The New York Liberty announced Sunday that they have acquired veteran guard Natasha Cloud from the Connecticut Sun. In return, the Sun receive two draft picks: the seventh overall pick in the 2025 draft and a 2026 first round pick.

Cloud, 33, spent last season with the Phoenix Mercury. She was sent to the Sun in February as part of a trade that sent Alyssa Thomas to Phoenix.
