Free agent veteran LB reportedly visiting Patriots on Wednesday

Former Tennessee Titans free agent linebacker Jack Gibbens is in Foxborough on Wednesday visiting with the New England Patriots, according to Mass Live’s Karen Guregian.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss mentioned Gibbens was “considering” a visit with the Patriots in his Sunday notes column. It makes sense considering Gibbens’ familiarity with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel. He signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent under Vrabel in 2022 and worked his way onto the team.

The former University of Minnesota standout had 167 total tackles, 1.5 sacks and four pass deflections in 29 games played for Tennessee. He is coming off a 2024 season that saw him tally 44 tackles and half a sack in 10 games.

However, his run was cut short by an ankle injury.

The Patriots could use additional depth at the linebacker position, and Gibbens is a player who could certainly help fill that void. He’d join the growing list of new Patriots linebackers, including Robert Spillane, Harold Landy III and K’Lavon Chaisson.
