LSU women’s basketball gets No. 3 seed for NCAA Tournament, will play San Diego State

LSU women’s basketball earned a No. 3 seed in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket, announced Sunday.

The Tigers are below top-seeded UCLA and No. 2-seed NC State in the first Spokane region for March Madness. They’ll host No.14-seed San Diego State in a first round game in Baton Rouge on Saturday. Should they win, the second round game would also be in the PMAC.

If head coach Kim Mulkey’s team advances throughout its region, it would face the winner of No. 6-seed Florida State and No. 11-seed George Mason. No.-5 seed Ole Miss is the lone SEC team in LSU’s region. In the Sweet Sixteen, the Tigers could run into the Wildcats or No. 7-seed Michigan State.

Per Mulkey, leading scorers Flau’Jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow will be active for the duration of the Big Dance. Johnson sat out of the SEC Tournament with a shin injury while Morrow exited the semifinal game against Texas with a lower body injury.
